Please note: All prospective homes will be required to have a pre-adoption home check and post home checks, and also provide references.

All dogs available for re-homing are neutered/ speyed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and de-flead. We generally do not rehome dogs to homes with children under the age of 8 years, but this depends on the individual dog and the circumstances of the adopter.

Fawn

Fawn is a beautiful red Staffie girl, aged 10 months old. She has a very cuddly and sweet nature, and loves her contact with people. She is very attached to her foster Mum and does get worried when she’s left so her adopter would need to work on this with her. But she is a young dog, and she’s not destructive. Fawn currently lives with a cat and although they aren’t physically together, she’s not shown any signs that she wants to chase the cat.

Although Fawn isn’t currently living with another dog, she has shown that she is good with other dogs but she has been a little unsure and bouncy around other dogs but has not shown any aggression whatsoever. Obviously any new dog that is brought into a home will need careful introductions. Fawn can live with children, although older children would be better, only because she may accidentally knock over a small child.

Here is a report from Fawn’s foster carer:

“Fawn is doing great. Been to see a couple of friends this week and she has gone off for a wander whereas before she stuck by me. Gaining so much confidence. The first week when we went out got a walk, she would take 2 steps then stop and look at me, never stopping to sniff and look around, so fearful. Now she wants to look and sniff everything. Totally different dog. She is happy to stay with my daughter now as well. Still doesn’t like being left but I can go to the toilet now without her crying outside lol!

In the evening she always likes a little play with her toys. Like a child, has to get every toy out of the toy box and has a little play with each of them. she gets each toy out of the basket and has a little play or chew and goes onto the next one. But she doesn’t destroy them, even the soft toys, she throws them around, and just gives them little nibbles.

So loving and loves cuddling up next to me on the sofa.
Getting curious about the cat but not aggressive just wants to go and have a look at him. Never pulls just keeps looking up to make sure you are still there.

When we are out walking she is so dainty she dances along on her tiptoes trying to see everything!”

Fawn is housetrained, travels fine and is beautifully behaved. This gorgeous girl will make a wonderful best friend for someone as she has such a big heart.

Cloud

Hello, my name is Cloud. I’m a young Staffordshire Bull Terrier spayed female, and I’m told I’m around 2-3 years old.

I had a very difficult life and before I came to Once Loved Dog Rescue. I was passed around from home to home and I didn’t understand why I couldn’t just stay in one place! It was very confusing for me and I never felt settled or secure.

Then I ended up at the pound, which isn’t a nice place for doggies and I was almost out of time. But now I’m in a foster home and I love my foster carers but I really need a home of my own, and somewhere that I can finally stay forever.

Because of my past, life hasn’t been easy for me, and I get worried when I’m left on my own. I’m trying my hardest to feel secure, and my foster carers are helping me with this. I’m doing well! But I need a home with someone who understands what it’s like to not be wanted and to be abandoned.

I don’t get on well with other dogs and I know this might go against me, but I hope there is someone out there who doesn’t have any other dogs and who will love me despite this. (or cats, I’m not too keen on them either, but lots of dogs aren’t!)

I need to live somewhere without young children too, because I don’t live with any children in my foster home.

I have such a lot of love to give to someone and I will be the best friend you could ever have. I adore cuddles and love to snuggle in close for a great big cuddle! I am housetrained, and I love going out in the car. I just need someone who will love me as much as I will love them!

If you think you could offer Cloud the home she’s looking for, please contact Sophie at Once Loved Dog Rescue for an adoption application form.

Email sophie@oncelovedrescue.org.uk or telephone 07773 76874 before 7pm please.

Please note, if we are unavailable to take your call, we will call you back, but please leave a landline number where possible. Mobile phones are expensive for us to call back. Thank you.

Romeo

Romeo is an absolutely gorgeous little Staffordshire Bull Terrier aged around 2 years old. He is a small sized, short legged Staffie. Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and de-flead.

Romeo is such an easy dog to look after. His foster carers were very surprised at how good he really is! He has settled into his foster home so well! He is excellent in the car, fully house-trained, non-destructive, and he has an abundance of character and love in his heart to give someone! Even during the short time I spent with him personally, I was smiling the entire time I was with him. Staffies are known as ‘the comedians of the dog world’ and this is so true of Romeo. He just has the loveliest, funniest character you could ever hope for! He is also extremely cuddly and likes nothing more at the end of the day than getting as close as he can for a big cuddle.

Romeo could live with another dog, although he isn’t currently living with other dogs in his foster home, he has met a lot of dogs while out and about and has been great with all of them. Although of course if he were to be adopted by someone with other dogs they would need to be introduced correctly. We do not know how Romeo is with cats as there are no cats at his foster home. So he would be best in a home without cats.

Romeo would also be best in a home with teenaged children, as he is not currently living with children.

This beautiful, cuddly boy is just waiting for someone to come along and give him the forever home he is longing for. Whoever adopts Romeo will be very lucky indeed!

Romeo is now out of kennels and is currently being fostered in the Ilminster, Lincs area.
Potential adopters will have thorough home checks before and after homing and will need to give references to ensure Romeo goes to caring and responsible owners.

Tia Perfect Calm Pint Sized Snuggle Bug

Tia has now been rehomed

Tia is a beautiful little red staffie girl pint sized snuggle bug! Aged around 6 years old. She is a darling girl, and is a joy to her foster carer. Here is what her foster carer has to say about Tia “Tia is totally perfect. She never pulls on the lead. She likes to have a fuss made of her when we are out but never jumps up, fine with every dog we meet and children too. Loves her cuddles. Happy to go in the crate. She only goes in there when I go to work but she sleeps in my bed:)”

Tia came from a pound originally and was due to be put to sleep due to lack of space as is the case with so many staffies in pounds around the country :(

Tia would be the perfect companion for someone, she is a small, dinky little staffie with such a sweet, calm, and loving temperament.

Tia can live with another dog but she likes her toys to be hers, and doesn’t much feel like sharing them with another dog, so her adopter would have to ensure there were no toys lying around! Other than her toys though, she has lived with another dog and was happy to share her space, the car (and the sofa) with another dog. Tia can’t live with cats though as like many dogs she will want to chase them. We are also looking for a home for Tia with older children, over the age of 8 years.

TIA IS IN FOSTER CARE IN THE BRIGHTON AREA.

If you think you could offer Tia the home she’s looking for, please contact Sophie at Once Loved Dog Rescue for an adoption application form.

Email sophie@oncelovedrescue.org.uk or telephone 07773 76874 before 7pm please.

Please note, if we are unavailable to take your call, we will call you back, but please leave a landline number where possible. Mobile phones are expensive for us to call back. Thank you.

Poppy The Water Baby Boxer Cross Female 2 years old Approx

Aren’t I beautiful!

Poppy has now been rehomed! We’re all so very happy for you Poppy!

The all new Poppy profile! For those of you who may have looked at Poppy’s profile in the past, look again! Poppy has been moved to a more suitable foster home for her, and now in the best hands,  the real Poppy has revealed herself :)

Poppy is a spayed Boxer X Staffie girl, aged approximately 2 years old.  Poppy came to us from a pound She was found wandering the streets by a member of the public and she almost got hit by a car. When she was found she had obviously had pups no more than two weeks previously, but she was found alone without her puppies :(

Poppy was in a poor state when she went into foster care but has gained weight and blossomed into the beautiful dog she is now. She is an absolute joy to our foster carers, Poppy quickly settled into her new foster home. She is great with other dogs and is  living with 4 other dogs in her foster home, both male and female.

Thank you for washing my ears!

Poppy spent a very long time in kennels before she went to her first foster home. She was said to lunge and bark at people and other dogs during her time there. But since we’ve moved her to a new foster home, she hasn’t shown any of that behaviour in any way whatsoever. We know from experience, that sometimes there can be a mis-match with foster carer and dog, and Poppy is doing amazingly in her new foster home. She has never lunged or barked at anyone in her new foster home, be it people or dogs! She is friendly and sweet with everyone she meets, she loves other dogs, as you can see by her photos! The photo of Poppy having her ears washed by one of her friends is just so sweet.

Poppy watching Eastenders!

It’s ok! I helps you! I carrys the horsey’s bowl!

Poppy even likes horses, and loves to make herself useful by helping out at the stables by carrying the horses’ food bowls! How adorable is that?!

Group hug!

We are looking for a home without cats as we don’t know what she would be like with a cat. Poppy could also be homed to a family with teen aged children. She is quite a big, strong girl and therefore she would be too big for really young children. Poppy would do best in a home with someone who enjoys lots of walks and the outdoors, she has lots of energy and although she isn’t a ‘dizzy busy’ dog in the home, and loves curling up for a cuddle, she thoroughly enjoys the outdoors and she is also a total water baby, and loves to splash around in any available water :) as you can see from this video. Enjoy!

Poppy is being fostered in the Bedfordshire area.

If you think you could give Poppy the loving forever home she is looking for,

Please contact Sophie at Once Loved Dog Rescue for an adoption application form.

Email sophie@oncelovedrescue.org.uk or telephone 07773 76874 before 7pm please.

Please note, if we are unavailable to take your call, we will call you back, but please leave a landline number where possible. Mobile phones are expensive for us to call back. Thank you.

We aren’t rehoming any dogs over the christmas period, we will be rehoming again after January 1st 2013. But if you are interested in Poppy, you can email us for possible adoption after that date.
